Hello 'Health Care' Team,

I wanted to report that I had a great Bluenose Half Marathon run a couple weeks. Typical to my PMS (Pre-Marathon Syndrome) I was feeling 'nigglings and twinges' a few days prior to race day, May 17...

Old habits tempted me to take NSAID's to deal with any inflammation that might be lurking in my joints  and I yielded to that thought and took a couple Motrin on the Thursday before the race. Then I realized that was not letting my body perform with the healthy and intentional care and treatment I've been giving it this past year. So from then on it was, go out and do the best I could with what I had to work with.

I was able to maintain a steady pace for the whole 21kms and finished at 1:45:41. (The finish has a nasty trick at the end with an uphill on Duke onto Brunswick street...) I am grateful for the treatments and encouragement I've received from Drs. Jason, Cindy and Karen at Spinal Care and Erica Poole, my osteopath in Bridgewater; the positive support from running friends and family; and especially to God for giving me desires and goals to reach for, with the strength and ability to achieve them.

Thanks again - blessings,
Karen
