Dr. Plotsky is a NUCCA practitioner and co-founder of Nova Spinal Care. He completed undergraduate work at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and Peru State College in Nebraska.
Originally from Edmonton, Dr. Plotsky graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in June of 2002. He considers this experience life altering as it completely changed his views on health and healing. It was early in his studies at Palmer College that he learned about the NUCCA adjustment and its effect on the spine, the nervous system and overall health. While at Palmer he served on the student council, played on the Palmer Baseball Team, served as President of the NUCCA club and was salutatorian of their class.
Dr. Plotsky is very active in the association (Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors) where he has served as President and is now the Past President and also the Chair of the PR Committee. Dr. Plotksy was voted chiropractor of the year by his peers in 2008.
Dr. Plotsky’s passion is health and wellness. How can anyone be of service to their families and communities if they are not healthy? He is consistently learning the latest trends to help get his patients out of pain and able to do the things they want in life. He loves his work and also loves spending time with his wife and 2 boys (David and Alex). Dr. Plotsky considers himself blessed to be able to live his passion and share his message of health and wellness with Atlantic Canadians.

I was a pitcher and had issues with my back at the beginning of every year as my body adapted to the bending and twisting. I wish I had used chiropractic all through my childhood because I know it would have improved my performance. Once I was in college I developed a keen interest in working with the human body. I thought I was going to be a teacher but after some research and mentoring I applied to the founding school of chiropractic: Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa. I went there without visiting the campus and after 4 years I came out a different person (and with my future wife Cindy). It was at Palmer that I learned about the NUCCA technique and decided that this would be my main choice of technique. I learned a lot of techniques at Palmer but NUCCA really resonated well with me.
I consider myself to be in excellent health, but it takes a lot of work to stay healthy. I get my chiropractic adjustments every 7-14 days to keep my body in tip top shape, even though I am rarely in any type of pain or discomfort. I also have a team of natural therapists that help me stay well. I have not missed a day of work since we opened the practice and I have not even had an aspirin in the last 6 years. I believe the body was made to be healthy and that if we take good care of our body, it will take good care of us. If you are a person who values your health and want some tips for staying young, I have a keen interest in this and have been studying how to do this for years.
Cindy and I settled in Halifax because there are no other chiropractors that do the NUCCA technique east of Montreal. We have patients from all the Atlantic provinces and approximately 20% of our patients drive at least 1 hour each way for care. We really love what we do and feel blessed to have the privilege to practice in this beautiful part of the country, with wonderful patients and an amazing tool to help so many people. Approximately 80-85% of our patients report positive changes in their first 2-3 months of care so we hope to be able to provide the same results for you. We can’t help everyone but we will do everything possible to try! Again, welcome and I look forward to meeting you.
