We are pleased to announce the newest addition to our team here at Nova Spinal Care, Acupuncturist, Dr. Michael Chang. A native of Taipei, Taiwan Michael has relocated to Halifax with his family (wife-Sunny, daughter-Candy, and son-Steven). Michael's extensive background (18 years experience) in the health field began when he completed a seven year course at Chung Shan Medical College acquiring a Bachelor's Degree of Medicine in 1989. He went on to do research in the fields of rehabilitation and physical therapy and was the manager of a rehabilitation department at the local Taiwan hospital from 1989-2000.
In the year 2000, his success in the healing arts led him to open his own multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Taiwan. As vice-president of the clinic, Michael’s role involved managing and working closely with two family doctors, an orthopedic doctor and an optometrist.
In 2003 he opened a Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic in China with two doctors. He currently owns and operates both this clinic and the one in Taiwan - from a distance with the aid of advanced technology.
Michael then furthered his education by attending the Fujian University of Traditional Medicine where he received a Bachelor of Medicine in the Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006.
